Two Vosges neighbors, the same gypsum geology at two strengths. Contrex is the heavy one, TDS 2032 with 468 mg/L calcium and 1187 of drying sulfate, a chalky, almost medicinal glass that has built its whole identity on that severity. Vittel is the same idea turned down, roughly half the load (TDS 1084, calcium 240, sulfate 400), which keeps the mineral character and drops the grip.
Pick Contrex if the calcium is the point and you can take the dry sulfate finish that comes with it. Pick Vittel for a mineral-dense French still water you can drink all day without your mouth drying out.
